Brief History:
It was fall of 2003 when a bunch of guys went to Angus Glen
Golf Club for the first time to try their hand at golf. Of course, they
were introduced to the game by another senior member who was a regular at
the club, Arun. Coming in with their experience with Cricket, they were
able to hit the ball at the driving range and were enthused by the flight
of the golf ball which the Cricket ball had always eluded them with.
Needless to mention that the balls seldom went in the intended direction.
However, what none of these guys knew was that they’d begun a journey that
would become an integral part of their lives and would bring them closer to
their friends and family with whom they would immensely enjoy “A Round Of
Golf”. Besides the wonderful game that golf is, what also played a huge
influence in their getting hooked onto the game was the fact that chilled
beer could flow in anytime during the play and post game sessions at the
clubhouse. Over the next weeks, months and years… playing Golf on the
weekends became a regular affair and everybody got better at it as well.
This is how KPGA had its informal inception and finally in the summer of
2006, after many deliberations, again over chilled beer, KPGA was
officially formed.
